Job Title : ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERK (1012)

PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides standard administrative, technical, or production services or information that support others, and/or organizes data and information that is used and analyzed by others.
DUTIES:*
1. Handle collection activities from federal/non-federal agencies, college work study, ETAP, and EDTAP; check backup paperwork for accuracy; resolve discrepancies; prepare invoices for submittal.
2. Create invoices in CUFS.
3. Reconcile accounts by checking computer reports, researching discrepancies, and preparing journal vouchers.
4. Prepare/send "reminder" letters for delinquent accounts.
5. Call delinquent customers as necessary.
6. Prepare Aging schedule for outstanding accounts.
7. Prepare monthly Activity Report.
8. File paid invoices per report category with attached cashier's receipt, check stub, and backup paperwork.
9. Enter payment information into invoice log; note partial payments.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles/procedures; computer applications including mainframe, Lotus, and WordPerfect.
Ten-key by touch, attention to details, good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
Preferred: An Associate's degree (two-year program or two to three years of college) or equivalent formal training.
Some accounting coursework is highly desirable.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: One to two years.
Preferred: Three to four years.
Specifically, the position requires one year of accounting experience.
Experience in accounts receivable is highly desirable.
