PURPOSE:
Persuading or influencing people outside the College or District that can have a significant impact on the finances of the College or District.
ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Expert Services or Work Unit Supervision provided by the employee in one or more of the following: - Organizing, planning for, developing, and directing a work unit. - Serving as an organization-wide expert in a professional or technical area.
DUTIES:*
1. Establish Alumni and Friends Association and Board of Directors and oversee activities.
2. Write, edit, and distribute alumni newsletter.
3. Identify, plan, and oversee various fundraising activities to generate funds for scholarships.
4. Implement strategy to locate alumni and friends for use as resources.
5. Develop, distribute, and assess surveys to determine educational experiences and needs of alumni.
6. Coordinate reunions and other events to encourage the participation of alumni and friends.
7. Develop/maintain computer-based system for maintaining and updating alumni and donor data.
8. Contact, meet, and establish close ties with community leaders interested in assisting with fundraising projects.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of computer database systems and specific word processing programs; knowledge of budgets.
Excellent written/oral communication skills; public relations skills; and planning/organizing skills.
Ability to plan/oversee special events.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable through ACCD insurers.

However, the search may require more study based on standards or approaches defined by management or the proper professional/technical discipline.

The employee works with students or members of the community for the primary purpose of creating behavioral change, marketing, or addressing confrontational situations.
CONSTITUENT RELATIONSHIPS
Interpersonal skills are absolutely critical in achieving desired outcomes and success or failure is dependent on the employee's ability to motivate or persuade others. The employee must have the ability to lead negotiations in a highly competitive or adversarial environment.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: A Master's degree or equivalent.
Preferred: A Master's degree or equivalent.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Five to eight years.
Preferred: Five to eight years.
Specifically, the position requires experience in an educational setting
with outreach activities.
