PURPOSE:

 

Persuading or influencing people outside the College or District that can have a significant impact on the finances of the College or District.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

 

Advisory Services or Work Leadership.  The employee provides direct services to customers or collaborates with other professionals by one or more of the following: - Personally assessing situations, obtaining necessary information, drawing conclusions and recommending and/or implementing courses of action in accord with normal practices and procedures. - Advising or training other professionals. - Helping organize the activities and output of fellow workers on a day-to-day basis as a working supervisor or work leader.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.                  Assess the training needs of government and private/non-profit/industrial sectors of business.

 

2.                  Develop sales prospects and build prospect lists through cold calling, referrals, or inquiries by targeting specific companies, organizations, and government agencies.

 

3.                  Assess individual employee’s training needs for contracted companies and agencies based on skill demands.

 

4.                  Develop and implement activities based on current marketing strategies and strategic marketing plan.

 

5.                  Prepare reports indicating sales activity, contracts signed, proposals developed, and contracts planned in conjunction with contract administrator.

 

6.                  In coordination with Director, maintain existing client relationships by evaluation and feedback concerning training received.  Suggest additional training services.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of current developments in related fields of specialization.

 

Ability to keep current with employee training field developments; contribute/present innovative ideas for new curricula/programs incorporating traditional schedules with new demands from industry; deal effectively/fairly with a variety of individuals in a courteous manner; effectively speak/read/write the English language; formulate program goals/objectives and identify appropriate activities/functions to meet the objectives; identify and use potential sources of data; meet deadlines for reports/assignments; present a positive/professional image when representing the College.

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

 

Valid Texas Driver’s License (must be insurable through ACCD insurers).

 

JOB EMPOWERMENT

The employee deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful reasoning before coming up with approaches or solutions.  The search for solutions may be accomplished relatively quickly. However, the search may require more study based on standards or approaches defined by management or the proper professional/technical discipline.

The employee often deals with students or members of the community.  The employee must have skill to understand and influence others.

 

CONSTITUENT RELATIONSHIPS

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION

 

Minimum:         An Associate's degree or equivalent.

 

Preferred:         An Associate's degree or equivalent.

Specifically, the position requires a minimum of one year of related experience.
