OF WORK
General
Statement of Duties: Serves as the chief
financial officer of the Alamo Colleges, the senior administrative official
responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Alamo
Colleges.
Supervision
received: Administrative Direction
Supervision
exercised: Provides leadership to District
managers and administrators in the areas of Budget & Finance, Public
Safety, Facilities, Acquisitions & Administrative Services, and Human
Resources.
Responsible
to: Chancellor of the Alamo Colleges
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supports the Chancellor and the
Board of Trustees in the development of planning and evaluation processes
consistent with the assessment of institutional effectiveness.
Directs the planning and
administrative procedures required to assure the financial solvency of the
Alamo Colleges; reviews all financial aspects of District operations.
Assists the Chancellor and the Board
in the development of long-term operating and capital budget strategies and
objectives to fund enrollment growth, educational programs, and facilities;
Ensures broad participation of
college and District constituencies in budget processes.
Works with District and college
councils and committees to promote collaborative policy review and
recommendation; works with operating units to obtain continuous improvement of
services.
Reviews
budget requests and assembles final budget for submission to the Chancellor and
the Board of Trustees.

EDUCATION:
A
Master’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is required. Doctorate preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of seven (7) years of senior-level administrative
experience in the programs, functions, and processes of a major complex
community college university system or other similarly complex organization
including demonstrated successful management of budget planning and control,
and operational planning is required. Demonstrated successful management of facilities,
human resources, purchasing, public safety and risk management is
preferred. Experience at the level of
College President, Vice President, Vice Chancellor, or Associate Executive Vice
Chancellor is strongly preferred.
