TITLE: ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR STUDENT AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Primarily is responsible for the student and program development as defined by the Vice Chancellor for Student Success and the Alamo Community Colleges (ACC). Provides leadership in developing and implementing effective student outreach and recruitment plans, initiatives, and programs; facilitating district-wide registration activities and programs; facilitating district-wide initiatives to address ACC student success goals, objectives, and priorities within the Strategic Plan; and for assisting, guiding, and supporting the Vice Chancellor for Student Success and ultimately the colleges as they strive to meet student success targets, benchmarks, and outcomes.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:*
1. Develops, coordinates and leads effective student outreach and recruitment plans, initiatives, and programs with school districts, colleges/universities, parents, and community partners (i.e. College Connection, Stock Show and Rodeo, Degrees Matter, Return to College Program).
2. Provides district-level guidance and coordination for registration activities, programs, and initiatives, such as the district-wide registration calendar and tuition strategies.
3. Provides district-level guidance and coordination for internal and external communications related to district-wide student services and programs including, but not limited to publications, web pages, and other related areas.
4. Assists the Vice Chancellor for Student Success with other initiatives, strategies, and student development programs related to student success across the colleges including outreach and new programs, coordination and alignment, development and review of pertinent policies and procedures, improving cross-college operational efficiencies and sharing best practices and models.
5. Provides guidance and support for the development of student service processes and measures that integrate the Baldrige model throughout the Alamo Community Colleges.
6. Serves as an active and contributing member of the Vice Chancellor/Vice Presidents Planning Group for Student Success.
7. Represents the Vice Chancellor for Student Success at meetings or other activities as required.
8. May represent the Vice Chancellor for Student Success on the Chancellor’s Executive Committee.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Student Success.

QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated knowledge of the administrative functions of a multi-college/multi-campus community college district
High level of organizational skills
Student-centered leadership skills in fostering program development and program evaluation
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
Ability and commitment to developing a culture of evidence, including the use of outcome assessments to evaluate programs and services
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a large, diverse, and complex educational institution, including the use of shared governance processes
Ability to utilize computer technology to access, evaluate, and communicate data
Ability to manage people and issues and to make and communicate decisions effectively and in a timely manner
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
A Master’s degree is required. An earned Doctorate degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
Five (5) years of service in progressively responsible student services administrator positions in higher education is required.
Preference is given for applicable experience in a multi-college/multi-campus community college district. Preference is given for 3-5 years as a Chief Student Affairs Officer or as a comparable college-level administrator. Student program development and college student development teaching experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
