PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides standard administrative, technical, or production services or information that support others, and/or organizes data and information that is used and analyzed by others.
DUTIES:*
1. Supervise children at all times; maintain appropriate visual and/or auditory awareness of children’s activities.
2. Assist children using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques such as establishing routines, using transition activities, redirecting behavior, and offering limited choices.
3. Encourage and support children’s physical, cognitive, language, and social/emotional growth by implementing play-based curriculum.
4. Maintain open communication with families and co-workers; answer parents’ concerns and receive special instructions.
5. Assist in maintenance of physical environment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices; Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services licensing regulations for childcare centers and NAEYC accreditation criteria.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and district employees; lift up to 40 lbs.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have current First Aid/CPR certification; negative TB test results; 2 doses of measles vaccine; current tetanus immunization; and Hepatitis B immunization.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Six months to one year.
Preferred: One to two years.
Specifically, the position requires six months of experience in a child care center setting.
