PRIMARY IMPACT:

 

Takes a leadership role in the provision of complex administrative, technical or production services, or crime prevention.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.                  Oversee the performance of theatrical events including theatrical productions; administer all policies and procedures including safety guidelines to attain satisfactory outcomes.

 

2.                  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, performers, representatives of outside agencies, and co-workers.

 

3.                  Operate and troubleshoot theatrical lighting systems.

 

4.                  Operate and troubleshoot theatrical sound systems.

 

5.                  Operate the theatrical fly system.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Working knowledge of lighting/sound systems and video/stage equipment for event production; safety policies and procedures for theater; theatrical production procedures.

 

Good supervisory skills.

 

Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 ft.; lift weight up to 40 lbs.; climb/work while on ladders; read/understand written/verbal instructions; follow instructions and work within the guidelines implemented by the theater administrator; adapt to the changing needs of clients and their productions; instruct/supervise stagehands and technicians in the correct assembly of sound, lighting, or video systems in the auditorium; identify problems and apply specific appropriate corrective actions on short notice on theatrical, dramatic, or rental productions.

Minimum:         Six months to one year.

 

Preferred:         One to two years.
