PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides analytic/diagnostic services or uses highest level technical skills which noticeably affect work results.
DUTIES:*
1. Instruct students in basic and intermediate skills in assigned sport; prepare students to participate and compete.
2. Instruct students in offensive/defensive strategies related to assigned sport.
3. Provide students with the fundamental rules of the specific game.
4. Instruct students in safety procedures to minimize sports-related injuries.
5. Distribute equipment to players; teach its proper use; and ensure accurate equipment inventory.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of rules/regulations governing assigned sport; effective coaching techniques. Basic knowledge of calisthenics and first aid.
Effective oral/written communication skills; supervisory skills.
Ability to organize, train, and supervise sports teams.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
A valid Texas Driver’s License and must be insurable through ACCD insurers.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: An Associate's degree or equivalent
Preferred: An Associate's degree or equivalent
Full-time experience directly related to the duties and level of responsibilities specified may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: One to two years
Preferred: Three to four years
Specifically, the position requires a minimum of two years of experience coaching in an organized club sport in addition to any years used to satisfy the educational requirements.
