PRIMARY IMPACT:

 

Provides analytic/diagnostic services or uses highest level technical skills which noticeably affect work results.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.         Preparation for and management of the annual fundraising event (pledge drive).  Conduct meetings; communicate with donors; write copy; work with designers; work telephones; perform data entry and record keeping.

 

2.         Responsible for the general oversight of daily activities including conducting meetings and record keeping.

 

3.         Maintain the automated music software system.  Record audio; schedule audio; resolve discrepancies; generate logs.

 

4.         Assign DJ shifts; advise DJs; work with Assistant Program Director to maintain staff and music programming.

 

5.         Resolve disputes; answer inquiries from the public; make promotional appearances.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Extensive knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.

 

Organizational and management skills; people skills; public relations and verbal communication skills; skills in operating computers (Windows), RCS, Selector, MS office applications, Pro Tools digital audio software, Quickbooks; skills with equipment such as microphones, audio mixers, studio audio board.

 

Ability to write, record, and perform audio and operate high end audio equipment.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION

 

Minimum:         A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

 

Preferred:         A formal training program after high school of approximately one year in duration.

 

Specifically, the position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus the completion of COMM 1307, COMM 2303, and RTVB 1150 with a grade of C or better.

 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum:         Three to six months.

 

Preferred:         One to two years.

 

Specifically, the position requires a minimum of one semester of experience as a KSYM staff member, be a student in good standing, enrolled in at least six hours, and be an RTVB or COMM major.
