PRIMARY IMPACT:

 

Provides analytic/diagnostic services or uses highest level technical skills which noticeably affect work results.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.         Assist faculty and students in lab by demonstrating proper use of medical equipment, devices, and instruments.

 

2.         Maintain laboratory and office equipment.

 

3.         Present lab material as needed in faculty’s absence.

 

4.         Assist faculty in production and reproduction of handouts, exams, and other materials.

 

5.         Recruit students by:

            a.         Communication of Vet Tech program to outreach programs.

            b.         Attending college functions and providing guidance and advisement to prospective students.

            c.         Giving small group orientations discussing the Vet Tech program.

            d.         Providing assistance to individuals concerning admissions requirements.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of standards of operations for all laboratory equipment functions; laboratory lesson troubleshooting guidelines and other assistance requirements; Veterinary Tech Program admission policies; transcript submission.

 

Skills in conducting various size group presentations; communication and leadership; and admissions guidance.

 

Ability to lift 40 lbs.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION

 

Minimum:         An Associate's degree or equivalent.

 

Preferred:         An Associate's degree or equivalent.

 

Specifically, the position prefers a degree from an accredited Vet Tech program.

 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum:         One to two years.

 

Preferred:         One to two years.

 

Specifically, the position requires a minimum of one year of related experience.  Experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred.
