Reasonable
Accommodation Request Information (ACCD
Policy DAA & DBB) In
accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and
the policies of the Alamo Community College District (ACCD), employees
will follow the Request for ADA Accommodation procedure when requesting
reasonable accommodation to perform the essential functions of the job.
It is the responsibility of the individual employee to request a
reasonable accommodation under the ADA. In
all instances, an individual must initiate an accommodation request
under the ADA by contacting the Department of Human Resources and by
following the ACCD procedures for an accommodation request under the
ADA. Upon review of the
required documentation and medical certification, a request for
accommodation will be approved or denied and the individual will be
notified in writing of the determination of the request. If it is determined that the individual is a qualified disabled person, then ACCD will make a determination whether the requested accommodation to the workplace is reasonable. A reasonable accommodation must not place undue hardship or administrative burden or require fundamental alternations to the essential functions of the job. Link to ADA Process Guidelines Back
