Disabled Parking
spaces at San Antonio College (SAC) are designated by appropriate
signage and painted identification. State permits (hang-tag
or plate) are required to park in those parking spaces.
When parking on campus, students, staff and faculty are required
to register their vehicles and display both the current Alamo
Community College District (ACCD) parking tag and the required
disability placard or plate. If a placard is used, the ACCD
tag is to be placed nearest to the windshield. Parking in
a designated disabled parking space without proper identification
will result in ticketing and possible towing. All College
traffic and parking policies and procedures apply to individuals
authorized disabled parking including, but not limited to: no
parking in front of curb "cuts" needed for wheel chair access,
no parking in spaces marked as "No Parking", Via Trans Drop Off
areas, spaces reserved for drop-off and pick-up, or areas reserved
for service deliveries.
ACCD parking permits are available for purchase and effective
for an entire academic year (September 1 through August 31).
You can register your car during registration or at the SAC Bursar's
(Business) Office, Fletcher Administration Center, Room 201.
Possession of an ACCD parking permit does not guarantee a parking
space, but does allow you to park in designated spaces.
Temporary Disability Parking:
Individuals who have experienced a temporarily disabling
condition that would require the use of disabled parking must
acquire a temporary disabled parking placard from the county assessor's
office (where you get your license plates). The required
form must be completed by your treating physician and submitted
to the assessor's office. When parking on campus, both your
ACCD tag and your temporary state disabled parking tag must be
displayed.
