Vision

The Department of Early Childhood Studies at San Antonio College strives to prepare students to become recognized in our community as personnel who

  • demonstrate excellence in all facets of the early childhood classroom
  • are life-long learners
  • are up-to-date with current early childhood education research
  • are advocates for children at a variety of levels including: home, places of employment, in the community and at the national level
  • are recognized and sought out by local industry and higer education programs

Career Opportunities:

A career in early childhood requires a person who has a positive self-concept, is energetic and reliable, is a lifetime learner, and genuinely likes being with young children. There are many positive dispositions necessary for working with children.
