ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
|
This 48 hour program is designed to specifically meet the needs of staff by developing their leadership skills. The program exposes students to effective practices of leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
New this year, the classes will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm every other Wednesday. Listed below are the program modules and descriptions. |

| Block I - Supervisory Leadership |
This class focuses on students' understanding the role a supervisor plays in the ability to better communicate, control resources, resolve conflict, foster teamwork, motivate employees, manage meetings, manage change, apply ethical principles, and evaluate performance. |

| Block II - Customer Service |
This class focuses on the customer service process. Dealing with angry customers, handling customer complaints, dealing with customers over the telephone, responding positively to customers, and developing a quality customer service attitude in the workplace are covered. |

| Block III - Performance Management |
Students will learn the importance of managing performance on the job. Establishing work standards, enforcing standards, and rewarding high performance are covered. The ACCD performance appraisal system will also be covered. |

| Block IV -
Business Writing |
This class will review basic requirements for sentence and paragraph construction. Writing to your audience, clarity and brevity are covered. Students will learn proper elements of memos and business letters. |
12 hrs. |
| Block V: Personal Presentation |
Students are expected to develop an understanding of what constitutes appropriate dress in the workplace. Students will learn what effect their dress has on interpersonal communication and career progression. Appropriate business and casual dress will be demonstrated. |
