Mission Statement


The Office of Institutional Effectiveness engages in continuous study, analysis, and appraisal of institutional purpose, policies, procedures, and programs.  It facilitates the integration of evaluation findings in the planning and budgeting process to improve institutional effectiveness.  In addition, the Office promotes the institutional research and planning function throughout the College in order to encourage continuous assessment for the improvement of services to students.  In support of this mission the office: 

  • Assesses the research needs of all College departments for planning, evaluation, and budgeting.
  • Coordinates research services for the support of planning, evaluation, and budgeting activities at all levels.
  • Implements ongoing institutional analyses necessary for maintenance of accreditation and disseminates the results.
  • Promotes among faculty, staff and administrators an understanding of methods of evaluation, criteria for evaluation, and potential uses for evaluation results.
  • Provides technical assistance to College constituents in planning and evaluation.
  • Conducts operational and management studies to facilitate policy formulation and analysis.
  • Develops and maintains computer programs and reports relevant to institutional research, planning, and budget, in collaboration with District Information Systems.
  • Promotes the assessment of institutional effectiveness to support continuous improvement throughout the institution.
  • Collaborates with Institutional Research and Planning Offices throughout the Alamo Community College District in efficiently meeting the information needs of the College and District with consistent standardized reports.
