Budget Tracking for ACCD Accounts with Excel Spreadsheets
        Experienced ACCD budget managers are aware that the 
        balances shown in the Advantage system often do not prove 
        to be accurate.  There can be a delayed reaction in the system 
        in showing deductions for what has been expended.  When
        viewing the Advantage screens, it is it may show more money 
        than is actually there.

        Come to this class and get a Microsoft  Excel spreadsheet 
        template which has been set up for each object code and 
        automatically calculates an accurate  balance as you type in 
        the amounts that are encumbered and or expended.  By doing
        so there is no guess work in what is left to be spent.  You can
        confidently spend every dollar you are allocated without the
        risk of over-spending.

        This ceremony honors all of the faculty and staff who have completed
        certifications for Internet and Web instruction during the year.

CD (compact disk) Prepare & write data to a CD
        Learn to write data files to a writeable CD ROM disk for long-time
        storage. The option is available to use a writeable or re-writeable 
        CD format.  This process is sometimes called "burning" a CD.

    Computer Security - Awareness
        IT Security and Awareness Training is designed to teach attendees
        about potential computer threats and risk management techniques.
        Virus Types, Data Security, Email Security, Passwords, Incident
        Reporting procedures will be discussed. In addition, attendees will
        learn virus elimination procedures and become aware of available
        security tools.

   Computer Maintenance Training
        In this session, attendees will learn how to manage files, backup files,
        do some basic preventive maintenance and network troubleshooting
        techniques. In addition you will learn to review PC resources, browser
        configurations and disk cleanup techniques.

        Learn about the digital video cameras and editing equipment
        available at the Instructional Technology Center. This class

Learning Communities Overview & Opportunities
        This session will include a general overview of the Learning
        Communities model and information about grant opportunities.

Learning Styles - Level 1
        Not all students lean in the same way, and their learning styles
        may be different from that of their instructors.  This brief workshop: 

1) Provides a brief overviews of the concept of learning styles
2)  Use on-line surveys to identify the instructor's and student's
     preferred learning styles
3)  Offers some suggestions about how to design instruction
      that addresses various learning styles and either "match"
     or "mismatch" a students preferred learning style

        "LIFT is a web accessibility software tool which will scan and analyze
        web content and produce detailed reports on level of compliance.
        The ACCD enterprise license is for LIFT machine and LIFT for
        Dreamweaver software.

LIFT machine allows web page developers to test and monitor web
pages for compliance with W3C and US Section 508 accessibility
guidelines. LIFT software conducts a site-wide analysis of intranet,
extranet and internet content, including both static and dynamic pages

Problem Based Learning
        Problem Based Learning is an instructional method that 
        challenges students to "learn to learn,"  working cooperatively 
        in groups to seek solutions to real world problems.  It prepares 
        students to think critically and to find and use appropriate learning 
        resources.    This session will introduce participants to the method 
        and provide information that will enable them to incorporate it into 
        their teaching repertoire.

        Publisher is a full-featured program for creating newsletters,
        brochures, cards, and flyers. Print your own business cards.

Respondus - Introduction to Test Development Off-line
        Respondus is the off-line software tool that allows
        insturctors to create tests while not being connected
        to the Internet.  These can be uploaded to WebCT
        when access to the Internet and WebCT are available.

Rolling Multimedia Unit - "SITE ADMINISTRATOR"
        Rolling Multimedia Units are ready for use in
        classrooms. One department in each building  will

        be selected to host a Unit and check it out to
        all other Certified faculty or staff in the building where
        it is hosted.

        This course is designed to train the designated lab
        or office staff members who will serve as SITE
        ADMINISTRATORS for the departments selected
        to host a "Rolling Multimedia Unit" in their building.

        A special software program has been written to check
        out and track usage of the Rolling Multimedia Units.
        SITE ADMINISTRATORS completing this training
        are certified with the Technology & Innovation Centers
        to check the Units out to faculty or staff who have been
        Certified to use them.

        (To become a "CERTIFIED  USER," a faculty or staff member
        must take the class called "ROLLING MULTIMEDIA
        UNIT - USER.")

        Learn the basics of scanning images such as
        photographs and text and saving them to a computer
        disk.  These can then be used in multimedia presentations,
        on web pages, or on printed documents.

        Preparing Graphic Images to put on your Web Home Pages
        Learn to prepare photographs with the digital camera
        and convert photographs, drawings, or other graphics
        to be used on Web pages.

Secretarial Training - Payroll System
        Secretaries will be trained on the district changes
        for the payroll system.

Service Learning 
        Attendees will learn the basics of service learning and how to 
        get started on incorporating this methodology into your curriculum.
        A faculty member will be present to discuss how she incorporated 
        service learning into her course curriculum and some things that
        she learned along the way to make her assignment more organized.

Service Learning - Homeland Security & Domestic Preparedness
         This workshop is for those faculty with at least a general understanding of                  service learning and may have at least tried it one semester.  This                             workshop  will explore incorporating homeland security or domestic              preparedness into your curriculums.  Funding opportunities are available              from a Learn and Serve SAFE Grant over the next two years.

        During this class, a demonstration of sound capture will be
        provided in the sound proof studio. Sound files may be recorded

          Learn to access information about students enrolled in a class,
          classes an instructor teaches, student grades, student addresses, 
          TASP compliance, students dropped from classes, etc.

Stylesheets for Webmasters & Designers (CSS)- Introduction
        With a single stylesheet web designers can have site-wide 
        control of all aspects of type, margins, headings, colors, 
        positioning of elements and more. The class will cover the 
        syntax (basic and advanced) of stylesheets and how to 
        incorporate a stylesheet in your site. Documentation available 
        to stylesheet authors will also be covered.

Testing On-line - Questionmark Perception
        Questions may be used for assessments such as
        tests, surveys, and questionnaires.  The program will

        and store the answers for the instructor to view and record.
