Change of Course Schedules

The course schedules herein have been carefully prepared to ensure that all information is accurate and as complete as possible. However, SAC Onlinereserves the right to make changes that may result in deviation from the information provided in the course schedule site (i.e. changes in instructors and class locations, and class deletions due to insufficient enrollment).

Unlawful Use

As a condition of the students' use of the SAC Online, the student warrants to SAC Online that he/she will not use SAC Online for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. You may not use SAC Online in any manner which could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the SAC Online Site or interfere with any other party’s academic use of the SAC Online Site. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available or provided for through the SAC Online Site.

World Wide Web sites

The WWW sites are currently accessible through this home page. Links to home pages belonging to other organizations, educational groups, or government sites also appear here. A link to a page through this site does not indicate approval by SAC Online. SAC Online is not liable if the information within a particular site is inaccurate, discriminating or offensive (to a particular person or group of persons), if the site is no longer available, or the user experiences interruptions while connecting to the site(s).

Use of PALS & Blackboard Services

The use of PALS & Blackboard portals through SAC Online may contain bulletin board services, chat areas, news groups, forums, communities, web pages, calendars, and/or other message or communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with the public at large or within a class. The student agrees to use the PALS and/or Blackboard portals only to post, send and receive messages and material that are proper as well as related to academic course material. By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using PALS and/or Blackboard, you will not:

  • Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.
  • Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information.
  • Upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy of publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.
  • Upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of the Alamo Community Colleges computers or systems.
  • Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose, unless an online professor specifically allows such messages for academic purposes.
  • Conduct or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters.
  • Download any file posted by another user that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
  • Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
  • Restrict or inhibit any other user from using the PALS/Blackboard Services.
  • Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines which may be applicable for any particular Communication Service.
  • Harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses, without their consent.

Access Termination/Restriction

The Alamo Community Colleges reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate/restrict your access to the PALS and/or Blackboard portals. The Alamo Community Colleges reserves the right to restrict students from accessing online and/or blended courses or any other information that does not pertain to the current semester.

Virus Protection

Students taking SAC Online Courses should have Anti-Virus Protection installed when accessing online class(es). Students are responsible for updating/upgrading their virus protection software. SAC Online will not be responsible for any personal computer/laptop that is infected or damaged as a result of a virus.
