Welcome to the San Antonio College online courses.
The variety of classes helps many students meet their educational
needs. Online learning provides options for working professionals,
the homebound, and others with rotating work schedules who, for
a variety of reasons, are not able to attend college on-campus.
Internet classes provide an alternate way for students to continue
their education at times convenient to them.
However, Online courses are not for
everyone. The student who completes an Internet
course successfully is
- Disciplined
- Highly motivated and
- Able to work independently
Online courses
are not designed to be easy.
Therefore, students are encouraged to review the steps to success
and take the Self-evaluation
to see how well online learning fits their individual learning styles.
Access the class website as soon as you register
to see course requirements. Please choose
a semester to see the list of courses here.
After
I enroll in an Online Course what do I do Next?
- Please do not forget
to pay your tuition or you will be dropped from
your courses.Click HERE

- Take the self-assessment
to see if you are a good candidate for Internet instruction.
- Online Course students
must have an e-mail address. To obtain a free
e-mail address, go to: www.accd.edu/pals.htm
and follow the instructions.
- E-mail your Instructor
and include your e-mail address
1-1/2 weeks before the course begins, verifying that you are part
of the course. Failure
to do this may cause you to be dropped
from the course! The instructor's(s') E-mail address
and phone number can be found within this schedule or on the SAC
Online web site: www.accd.edu/sac/online/html/courses/courses.htm.
- Students
taking an online course are required
to visit the Internet
Skills Center, located in the Moody Learning
Center (MLC), Room 400B to receive
instruction on online courses.
- Access
the course site
by going to www.accd.edu/sac/online/html/courses/courses.htm
and select courses, click on the semester (Fall, Spring etc.).
This will bring you to the list of courses for that semester.
Finally, scroll down the list of courses and click on your course
to access course site, course syllabus, course assignments and
other pertinent information provided.

Steps
to Taking an Online Course Successfully

Take the Self-evaluation
to see if you are a good candidate for Internet instruction.
Once you answer the questions you will get an instant response.
- Complete the
lessons in Online Course Readiness Module.
- Study
the Strategies for Success information.
- Contact the instructor by email 1-1/2
weeks before the semester
or flex course begins.
Failure to do so may cause you to be dropped from the course.
- Make sure to pay
the tuition bill on time
to avoid being dropped
from your courses. Tuition bill(s)
will NOT be sent
by the business office. It is the student's
responsibility to pay his/her tuition on time.
- Once you have registered, the student
will assume responsibility for accessing
the course site and reviewing the syllabus for
class requirements, assignments, and any other information the
student might need.
- To find this information, go to the Online course
page and then click on the one(s) for which you are registered.
- Once you get there, click on each course for
which you signed up and bookmark that page.
- On the first day of the semester, work on the
assignments for week one and submit them as directed.
Hardware

Students experiencing the least
trouble in the past had PC
equipment which met these minimum requirements:

- There may be other software/hardware requirements
particular to each course. Students are STRONGLY
ENCOURAGED to check the course site for additional
information and other requirements.
Warning:
Students who access the Internet through AOL
browser may experience
many technical difficulties.
Macintosh or
Linux users may also experience
problems.
Students taking Internet courses should
have Anti-Virus protection program installed when
they access online class(es). Students are responsible for UPDATING/UPGRADING
their Anti- Virus protection software!
