Sandi Boyd was hired as the Alamo Academies Off-Site Coordinator at the Central Texas Technology Center in April 2008. The Center hosts an Information Technology and Security Academy and a Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Academy. Before joining the Academies she owned and operated Legerity Group, a software and business process consulting firm and was a principal in 3V Technologies. Prior hi tech experience includes Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and Digital Equipment Corporation. She has held higher education management positions with both St. Mary’s University and St. Olaf College. Her Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies was earned at Pitzer College.
Ernest Gil, Jr. was hired as the Manufacturing Technology Academies Coordinator in August of 2007. Prior to his stint in this post, he served as an Assistant Director of Community Outreach with UTSA and an Education Coordinator with the United States Navy College. He is a graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word, where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business. Currently, he is working on his PhD in higher education with Capella University.
Marivel Nanez was hired as the Alamo Area Aerospace Academy Off-Site Coordinator in April 2003. Before coming to this position, she worked on the Skills Development Grant and the HACU program. She also had previous workforce development experience with the Texas Workforce that has helped her in her career. She is a graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas.
Erica Garza was hired as the Information Technology & Security Academy Coordinator In May 2009. Before coming to this position, she taught at local Texas schools as a 3rd grade teacher. She is a graduate from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education: Early Childhood – 4th grade.
Troy Kettell was hired as the Health Profession Academies Offsite Coordinator on August 10, 2009. Before coming to this position, he served 21 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant from Sheppard Air Force Base as Superintendent, Training Evaluation. He held many diverse positions during his career raging from Non-Commission Officer in Charge of Clinical Dietetics, Health Promotions and Instructor Supervisor, Diet Therapy Apprentice Course. He is a graduate from the Community College of the Air Force and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University.
