PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides standard administrative, technical, or production services or information that support others, and/or organizes data and information that is used and analyzed by others.
DUTIES:*
1. Update and monitor network and CD-Rom software; install new CD-Roms to network.
2. Assist in supporting faculty and staff with computer problems and service requests.
3. Monitor department computers; assist librarians/instructors with technical problems.
4. Assist with installing and configuring physical network (pull cable, install adapters, and configure software).
5. Assist with developing and maintaining WWW homepage.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Novell 3.x, Microsoft Windows NT 4.x, networking, network hardware, software, cabling (STP and UTP), topography, networked CD-ROM concepts, IBM 3270 mainframe emulation, CMS, MVS, TCP/IP, the internet, and winsock applications.
Proficiency with DOS, Windows 3.x, 95, 98 and/or NT operating systems, WordPerfect, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Microsoft Explorer 5.x, and Netscape 5.x. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift 20 lbs.
