Welcome
to the
Alamo
Community Colleges
Leadership
Academy
for
Success
(ALAS).
The
purpose of ALAS
is to assist in developing, enhancing,
and preparing effective leaders with the knowledge and
skills to meet the needs of the organization. In
addition, the Academy will foster employee and student
success in support of our mission of becoming the best
community college in the nation.
The
ALAS program combines three curriculum elements in a
10-month experience: exploration of current issues
facing ACCD; an opportunity to hone leadership
competencies; and the opportunity for participants to
meet, work closely with, and develop strong ties to
colleagues from throughout our system. Participation in
ALAS offers a unique opportunity to learn a great deal
about ACCD, leadership, and yourself.
Eligibility for ALAS
is open to full-time faculty and staff who
have worked for ACCD for one year, are in good standing,
and currently serve in a supervisory capacity or
leadership role.
Participants are required to attend the 10 program
sessions and meet regularly with their mentor. Though
these activities will occur during normal work hours
additional time may be needed.
Please make sure your supervisor is aware of and in
agreement with these requirements.
To
apply for ALAS please fill out the application located
on the Employee Services web-page and email it to
dst-alas@mail.accd.edu before July 15, 2008.
