Pay Day: All non-temporary employees of the ACCD are paid semi-monthly on the 15th and last working day of the month.
Pay Raises: Whenever the budget allows and the Board of Trustees approves, the ACCD offers a general wage adjustment to regular employees on September 1. Eligibility may be based on date of hire. The amount of staff raises is determined by the Board of Trustees annually. Faculty raises are based upon the established salary schedule.

Retirement: The ACCD contributes to Social Security and has a mandatory retirement plan with the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. Employees must contribute 6.4% and the state will contribute a portion. Other options are available for faculty and administrators. All employees may contribute to a tax-sheltered annuity.
Leave:
Sick Leave -- 10 days per year for 9-month employees; 13 days
per year for 12-month employees
Vacation Leave -- In years 1-5, employees earn 6.66 hours per
month. Vacation accrual increases with years of service, up to a
maximum of 12 hours per month.
Personal Leave -- 16 hours per fiscal year, non-cumulative
Holidays -- up to 20 paid holidays per year, including a 10-day
Christmas break
Education: The ACCD offers a liberal Employee Tuition Assistance Program (ETAP) for those employees wanting to take courses at an ACCD college. Tuition and fees will be paid at 100 percent for up to six semester hours and 75 percent for up to four semester hours in excess of six. A partial benefit extends to dependents after employee completes one full year of employment. Part-time faculty receive a limited ETAP benefit.
Promotions: Job openings at the ACCD may be posted internally and externally simultaneously. Non-faculty employees must compete for promotions by applying for posted positions.
