PURPOSE:

 

Developing programs and processes that provide a service to students, and/or other internal College or District customers.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

 

Advisory Services or Work Leadership.  The employee provides direct services to customers or collaborates with other professionals by one or more of the following: - Personally assessing situations, obtaining necessary information, drawing conclusions and recommending and/or implementing courses of action in accord with normal practices and procedures. - Advising or training other professionals. - Helping organize the activities and output of fellow workers on a day-to-day basis as a working supervisor or work leader.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.         Conduct research studies; analyze statistical data for the interpretation of test results; develop statistical reports using this data.

 

2.         Maintain research library and respond to requests for information regarding assessment statistics.

 

3.         Administer tests to assess the skills/interests of college students.

 

4.         Maintain security/confidentiality of test materials and results; maintain officiality of results for audits.

 

5.         Hire/train/supervise part-time/temporary personnel; make hiring recommendations based on budget/needs of the department.

 

6.         Formulate/present test center guidelines, budget requests, unit plans, and facilities/equipment configurations to faculty/administrators.

 

7.         May plan/monitor off-campus TASP verification/testing activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of action research methodologies; principles/procedures for classroom/standardized test administration.

 

Excellent oral/written communication skills; supervisory skills.

 

Ability to analyze statistical data; synthesize information for presentations; maintain effective working relationships.

The employee deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful reasoning before coming up with approaches or solutions.  The search for solutions may be accomplished relatively quickly.  However, the search may require more study based on standards or approaches defined by management or the proper professional/technical discipline.

 

STUDENT/COMMUNITY INTERACTION

 

The employee works with students or members of the community in situations that require skill in counseling, educating, or convincing others.

 

 

 

 

CONSTITUENT RELATIONSHIPS

 

The employee must frequently seek cooperation from, persuade, or influence others.  The employee must develop relationships and persuade others to resolve problems, change people's minds, or directly produce customer satisfaction.  This level usually includes jobs which assign and review work of other employees.  The employee, however, does not have accountability for formal management of others.

 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION

 

Minimum:         An Associate's degree or equivalent.

 

Preferred:         A Bachelor's degree.

 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum:         One to two years.

 

Preferred:         Three to four years.

 

Specifically, the position requires one year of related experience.
