PURPOSE:
Providing business or administrative recommendations to others inside or outside the College or District that will be used to make decisions.
ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Advisory Services or Work Leadership. The employee provides direct services to customers or collaborates with other professionals by one or more of the following: - Personally assessing situations, obtaining necessary information, drawing conclusions and recommending and/or implementing courses of action in accord with normal practices and procedures. - Advising or training other professionals. - Helping organize the activities and output of fellow workers on a day-to-day basis as a working supervisor or work leader.
DUTIES:*
1. Prepare enrollment reports; collect and analyze data; determine enrollment trends in division and individual programs; determine how many sections of courses to offer; document retention.
2. Assist in developing and monitoring budget schedules; collect and analyze data; develop spreadsheets and graphical reports; work with department chairs and others to resolve problems.
3. Respond to policy and procedure questions and issues; coordinate or conduct research and collect data for proper response.
4. Monitor division for institutional effectiveness; revise/delete ineffective strategic plans; review each department's plan to determine if its objectives are measurable and clear and being realized.
5. Review 2+2 Tech Programs for effectiveness; review outdated programs for obsolescence; contact appropriate institutions.
6. Complete Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and Perkins
reports including gathering data.
7. Oversee scholastic withdrawals from the division; serve as contact position for problem resolution; make decisions concerning same.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of computer software including word processing/multimedia presentation/database/spreadsheet applications, web page construction/maintenance, and Internet usage; political/organizational protocol; budget development; management; basic statistics; and English grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and composition.
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; prioritize work; work independently; represent the Dean in a professional manner; make decisions using discretion and sound judgment; interpret data and research; establish/maintain effective working relations with all levels of personnel as well as students.

The employee deals with issues or problems that often require thoughtful reasoning before coming up with approaches or solutions. The search for solutions may be accomplished relatively quickly. However, the search may require more study based on standards or approaches defined by management or the proper professional/technical discipline.

The employee works with students or members of the community in situations that require skill in counseling, educating, or convincing others.
CONSTITUENT RELATIONSHIPS
The employee must frequently seek cooperation from, persuade, or influence others. The employee must develop relationships and persuade others to resolve problems, change people's minds, or directly produce customer satisfaction. This level usually includes jobs which assign and review work of other employees. The employee, however, does not have accountability for formal management of others.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: A Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: A Bachelor's degree.
Specifically, the position requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in Business or Educational Administration or closely related field.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: Three to four years.
Preferred: Five to eight years.
Specifically, the position requires 3 years of applicable experience.
