PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides analytic/diagnostic services or uses highest level technical skills which noticeably affect work results.
DUTIES:*
1. Complete routine programming tasks, tests, and program implementation.
2. Compile and write documentation to describe program development and revisions.
3. Assist in analyzing, designing, and testing new and/or existing programs; modify computer programs to correct problems, and implement approved program changes.
4. Provide support and resolve routine problems; analyze assigned programming tasks, and work with supervisor on priorities and time lines.
5. Interface with faculty and staff to identify business requirements and develop solutions; assist in determining user requirements for new and modified programs.
6. May independently perform ad hoc file queries.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer science; working knowledge of various computer languages and tools including mainframe and/or PC application environments.
Strong planning, organization, technical and communication (oral/written) skills.
Ability to grasp new languages and development tools; analyze problems and provide solutions and strategies; interact with non-technical users.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: A formal training program after high school of approximately one year in duration.
Preferred: An Associate's degree or equivalent.
Specifically, the position requires thirty college hours of computer technology-related coursework.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum: None.
Preferred: One to three months.
