PRIMARY IMPACT:
Provides analytic/diagnostic services or uses highest level technical skills which noticeably affect work results.
DUTIES:*
1. Teach assigned classes by providing verbal and/or physical instruction to individuals and groups using books and other appropriate media.
2. Complete regular evaluations of all students by announced due dates; interview students to provide written and verbal constructive feedback on performance and progress.
3. Evaluate students’ skill levels, needs, and interests to determine appropriate piece or project for program/recital. Submit copies of performance pieces to Academy Director or Administrative Assistant by announced due dates.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide individual and group instruction in the given art form. Ability to evaluate and critique students’ skills and progress in the given art form. Ability to describe and demonstrate techniques in the given art form.
As applicable to the areas listed:
Music – Knowledge of history and theory of music. Ability to differentiate tonal qualities. Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Theater – Knowledge of theatrical stage and technical practices and techniques and theatrical history and theory. Ability to freely move around a stage to include climbing ladders. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Art – Knowledge of history and theory of art. Proficiency in the given art medium (painting, drawing, sculpture, digital media, or photography). Ability to handle two- and three-dimensional art objects. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Dance – Knowledge of history and theory of dance. Proficiency in various dance forms (such as ballet, modern dance, or cultural dance). Ability to move and demonstrate proper form and technique through verbal and physical instruction. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum: A Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: A Bachelor's degree.
Specifically, the position requires a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in the area of assignment, OR four years of related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to four years.

Minimum: Three to four years.
Preferred: Three to four years.
Specifically, the position requires four years of related experience in addition to any used to satisfy the education requirement above.
