PRIMARY IMPACT:

 

Takes a leadership role in the provision of complex administrative, technical or production services, or crime prevention.

 

DUTIES:*

 

1.         Ensure accurate information is disseminated to readers by proofreading, fact-checking, and editing submittals.

 

2.         Produce publication for printing including layout and design of camera-ready art.

 

3.         Interact with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to obtain submittals for publication by and for students.

 

4.         Ensure timely and accurate production of all assigned publications/issues (August through May).

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of legal and ethical restraints on publications; computer software/hardware necessary for the acceptance of submittals and production of camera-ready art; printing processes.

 

Skills in computer including MAC/PC, scanner, printer, hardware and software (i.e., Pagemaker, Freehand, Illustrator, Acrobat, Omnipage, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, internet); proofreading; copy editing; fact-checking; layout, design, and production of digital camera-ready artwork; interpersonal communication.

 

Ability to solicit submittals, set goals, and consistently work with accuracy within time constraints.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION

 

Minimum:         A Bachelor's degree.

 

Preferred:         A Bachelor's degree.

 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum:         Three to four years.

 

Preferred:         Five to eight years.
