ACCUPLACER and ASSET

 

Students who are interested in enrolling in any of the Academies must complete all sections of Accuplacer or ASSET:  Reading, English (w/ Essay), and Math.  Students must pass one section in Accuplacer or ASSET to qualify for any of the Academies.  Students who wish to use TAKS scores to meet eligibility requirements must pass all sections of TAKS.  

     

      Accuplacer Minimum Placement Scores

      Math:                  63                  

      Reading:           78

      English: 80 Sentence Skills w/ 5 or higher Essay

 

      ASSET Minimum Placement Scores

      Math:                38                    

      Reading:           41

      English: 40 Objective w/ 5 or higher Essay

 

      10th/11th Grade TAKS

      Math:                2200

      Reading:           2200

      English:             2200 w/ Writing Score 3

 

·         Student must meet all College Dual Credit and Program Requirements for acceptance in the Academies

 

·         There is a $15.00 fee for the exam.  Student must provide a photo ID and social security number at the time of testing.

 

·         There is a practice website at www.testprepreview.com/accuplacer_practice.htm that you can use to preview the Accuplacer.

 

·         You will receive a printout of Accuplacer or ASSET test scores that you can submit to the Coordinator for your Academy program.
