LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Mission of the Legal Affairs Committee

The Board of Trustees strives to oversee the management of the District’s resources so that those resources are available to support the success of all students. To this end, the Legal Affairs Committee will provide effective oversight of the District’s dispute resolution processes to ensure that the District’s legal risks are managed in a way that achieves the cost-effective, fair, equitable, prudent and timely resolution of all disputes.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALAMO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT WILL BE HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL 2006. THE MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE WILL CONVENE IN OPEN SESSION AT 6:00 P.M.

This meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees, being held for the reasons listed below, is authorized in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Sections 551.001 - 551.146. Verification of Notice of Meeting and Agenda are on file in the office of the Chancellor. Executive Session, if required, is authorized by the statute and will be conducted prior to the conclusion of the meeting. If, during the course of the meeting, any discussion of any item listed on the agenda should be held in Executive Session, the Committee will convene in such Executive Session in accordance with Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 - 551.084. The Committee must take action in the open portion of the meeting on items discussed in the Executive Session. The Committee will consider, discuss, and take appropriate action regarding the following items:
