NOTICE
IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALAMO COMMUNITY COLLEGES
WILL BE HELD ON THE 13TH DAY OF MARCH 2007. THE
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD WILL CONVENE IN OPEN
SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. OR UPON ADJOURNMENT OF THE
AUDIT, BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING.
This
Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees, being
held for the reasons listed below, is authorized
in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Sections
551.001 - 551.146. Verification of Notice of Meeting
and Agenda are on file in the Office of the Chancellor.
Executive Session, if required, is authorized by
the statute and will be conducted prior to the conclusion
of the meeting. If, during the course of the meeting,
any discussion of any item listed on the agenda
should be held in Executive Session, the Board will
convene in such Executive Session in accordance
with Tex. Govt. Code §§ 551.071 - 551.084.
The Board of Trustees must take action in the open
portion of the meeting on items discussed in the
Executive Session. The Board will consider, discuss,
and take appropriate action regarding the following
items:
AGENDA
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CAN
CERTIFICATION AND POSTING OF NOTICE
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Under
Tex. Govt. Code §§ 551.071(1) (A) and
(B), the Board will consult with its attorneys with
regard to procedural matters relating to the requested
appeal by Alvoid Bennett.
Under
§§ 551.071(1) (a) and (b), Tex. Govt.
Code, the Board will consult with the College
District’s attorneys about contemplated or
pending litigation, or settlement offers, including
William Miller vs. ACCD; Elvira Jimenez vs. ACCD;
Theresa Martinez-Fayette vs. ACCD;
and matters involving Joan Drennan Taylor.
Pursuant
to § 551.071(2), Tex. Govt. Code, the Board
will consult with the College District’s attorneys
to seek their advice on a matter in which the duty
of the attorneys to the governmental body under
the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct
of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with
this Chapter 551.
Pursuant
to § 551.072, Tex. Govt. Code, the Board will
deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value
of real property.
Any action will be taken in Open Session.

meeting site is wheelchair accessible. The accessible
entrance is located at the front entrance to Building
E (entrance faces S. Flores Street). Accessible
parking spaces are located in front of Building
E, located in the parking lot that faces on S. Flores.
