The District Print Shop offers professional layout and design services. We can turn a rough sketch or idea into a finished product, designed to meet your specifications. Existing artwork and pictures can be scanned at ACCD's Print Shop and then manipulated and edited to your satisfaction. Anything from basic copying to complex compositioning, color correction and special effects can be completed on our in-house equipment.

If you prefer to do your own desktop publishing, our specialist is always available with advice on how to best complete your job for printing at Print Services. If you would like Print Services to do the work for you, we will store an electronic copy of your project in our archives so that changes can be made quickly in the future without having to start over. TIPS FOR SAVING ON PRODUCTION COSTS

A few simple steps can cut down on your cost for layout and design:

• It is always helpful to know what the customer wants before we start. If Print Services will be designing your project, a rough sketch, outline or basic idea will help us complete the job on time.
• Gather together all of the materials you would like included in your job before sending it to Print Services. Any delays in receiving parts that need typesetting will delay the entire job.
• If you have information to be used in your project stored on your computer, it may help to send the information on disk to Print Services along with the job. Your typed word processing files can be used to eliminate the time it would take to retype the information.
• File formats supported by Print Services include:
  • MACINTOSH- Adobe Acrobat, Pagemaker, Photoshop and Illustrator; Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word; Quark XPress.
  • PC- Adobe Acrobat and Pagemaker; Corel Presentations, Quatro and Word Prefect; Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Word.
  • NOTE: documents created using Microsoft applications may be submitted for copying (b/w or Color) or one-color printing only, these document formats are not accepted for offset or process printing because separations can not be made from these applications. See Printing page for more details.
  • Call the District's Desktop Publishing Specialist to check the compatibility of other file formats.
• Proofs for your project are often ready in a short time, Returning proofs promptly with any corrections will ensure timely results. editing/proofing marks (PDF)
