- Who may apply for scholarship?
Students graduating from high school, currently enrolled college students, former college students, or first time in college students may apply provided they meet the eligibility criteria stated in this website or the scholarship applications. Students having completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree will not be considered. Submission of an application does not guarantee an award will be made to an applicant.
- When may someone apply?
The majority of these scholarship have a deadline of May 15th if the student is applying for the fall term or the academic year. If the student is applying for the spring term, the deadline is Novermber 1st. Some scholarships have an "OPEN" date, meaning that the department will accept applications throughout the academic year.
- The deadline date is April 1st on the application. Can I still use it?
Yes! The student will be awarded when the file is complete, and funds are available.
- What is the deadline date?

- Where may someone apply?
Students may apply at the Student Financial Services' Offices of the Alamo Community College District.
- Where can one pick up the application?
There is no need to pick up the application. We will mail you one if you submit a request form. See the request form icon from the scholarship home page.
- Which official transcript is required? High school or college?
If you have never attend a college, submit an official high school transcript.
- But my grade point average is 2.0?
While some scholarship require a 3.0 G.P.A. or better. Go ahead, submit the application because of the low count of recipients.
- From whom can I get a letter of recommendation?
One can obtain a letters of recommendation from counselors, ministers, or instructors.
- Will I be notified if awarded?
Yes, the committee will be making the final selections.
- Who signs the application?
Your parents if dependent. The scholarship coodinator will sign at the ACCD,
Student Financial Aid Office.
- If I graduated for high school years ago, but never attended or first time currently in enrolled, do I still need to submit an official high school transcript.
No, if you can justified the year of your last high school attendance.

All these applications are used when applying for specific scholarships listed in this website. Each application prescribes specific eligibility requirements conforming to the requirements established by the scholarship donor. Scholarships may have additional requirements not listed in this website which are stated in the applications.
The Alamo Community College District Scholarship Application is the most common application used to apply for scholarships. However, some scholarships require that you complete one of the listed applications above. Please check the specific scholarship. Departmental Scholarships require that you contact the designated department at each college for their particular application.
Eligibility Requirements
- Recipients of the institutional scholarship are required to:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student aid for need-based consideration.
- Be enrolling as a first time in college or returning ACCD student with fewer than 90 cumulative college credit hours attempted.
- Pursuing an Associate Degree, Certificate of Completion, or transfer program at the ACCD Colleges.
- Enrolled for 6 - 12 hours depending on scholarship criteria.
- Have and maintain a satisfactory GPA (2.00 - 4.00).
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress as required by Student Financial Services.
(REFER TO COLLEGE CATALOG), and not be in default or owe a refund to any other college.
- U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Application Procedures
- Complete and submit to Student Financial Services (SFS), a Scholarship Application with the items listed below.
- Submit an official college academic transcript from all colleges previously attended. (Copies of ACCD College transcripts are not needed)
- One page essay explaining your career goals.
- One page short autobiography
(include your family background and personal interests).
- Entering freshmen must submit a high school transcript.
Selection Of Recipients
Selections will be based on student's overall academic progress, extracurricular activities, leadership skills, and participation in community activities.
Notice Of Awards
Students will be notified by E-mail of any scholarship award or denial.
Renewal Of Scholarship
Scholarships may be renewed on an academic year or semester basis, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress and availability of funds. Students must re-apply by the deadline for the next academic year (Sept.-May), or semester for a continuation of the scholarship. Please attach a separate sheet describing how the scholarship
benefited you and why it should be renewed.
Revocation Of Aid
The Office of Student Financial Services reserves the right to cancel any scholarship or aid awarded at any time if the applicant fails to meet the standards of academic progress, any other scholarship requirements, or falsifies information reported.
