Organization

The Chancellor is the chief administrative officer of the Alamo Community College District and works under the direction of the Board. The Board is the governing body of the District which sets policy for the District and is responsible for appointing the Chancellor.

The Board has specific powers and duties imposed by state statutes, providing policy direction for the District and establishing goal’s consistent with the District’s role and mission. The Board has the authority to levy and collect taxes and issue bonds, prepare and adopt a budget for each fiscal year, have the accounts audited. The Board has final authority to determine and interpret the policies that govern the colleges.
