Blackboard Goes Live at Alamo Community Colleges!

After an intense period of pilot tests over the past year, Blackboard Vista our new online learning management system will go live Spring 2009. Alamo Community Colleges will offer over 1940 course in Blackboard Vista during the Spring semester. If you are enrolled in an online or a blended course, please consult with your faculty and find out if your course is being taught using the Blackboard Vista Platform. Blackboard Learning Management System offers many student-friendly features, including, easy to use navigation tabs and panels, reduction in the number of user-clicks, collaborative and communication tools, such as, email, discussion boards, chat rooms, blogs and streaming media options.

To access your Blackboard Vista account, you will need a PALS ID. To verify your PALS account status, visit http://www.accd.edu/PALS. On the PALS homepage select the college in which you are enrolled. Then, on the left navigation bar, select the link to obtain your PALS user login name and then follow the onscreen prompts. With your PALS Login information follow the link to access Blackboard: http://vista.accd.edu . For password you must use the first two letters of your last name (IN UPPER CASE) followed by the last six digits of your social security number.

To access Blackboard you need a computer with Internet access and a Web browser. Also, you must ensure your computer has the latest Java version and your internet settings have been cookie enabled.
