| Gareth
L. "Gary" Beitzel brings more than 40 years
of active duty and civil service experience with the
U.S. Air Force to his position as an ACCD trustee. Before
his retirement in June 2002, Beitzel was chief of the
Information Management Requirements branch of the Plans
and Programs Directorate at HQ Education and Training
Command at Randolph AFB. His career with the Air Force
has included experience teaching in a number of technical
subject areas as well as supervisory and administrative
positions which included responsibilities for policy
development.
Beitzel earned
a bachelor of science degree, magna cum laude, and a
master's in business administration from the University
of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He also holds a U.S.
Air Force Chief Information Officer certificate from
the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
Beitzel is
active with the Boys Scouts of America and has served
as a cub master, assistant scoutmaster and scoutmaster.
He is past chairman of the board of directors of Gateway
Federal Credit Bureau, formerly Lowry Federal Credit
Union, in Colorado. He also is a member of the personnel
committee of Wayside Chapel in San Antonio.
Beitzel and
Margery, his wife of 37 years, have two sons, Brett
and Derek, and one granddaughter, Alexandra.
