Our Mission

The Alamo Community College District has a special responsibility and commitment to promote international education in order to provide ACCD students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to become productive citizens of Texas, the country, and the world; and to function more effectively with its constituents in the 21st Century.

The Alamo Community College District recognizes that its constituents are living in a global society and that the city of San Antonio is in a key location to participate in the development of all aspects of international trade. Therefore, the ACCD colleges will be committed to excellence in education and will provide instruction and services that foster a global perspective.

The Colleges of the Alamo Community College District should:

  • Have a college mission that includes the commitment to prepare students to live and work in a global economy.
  • Have a global perspective that permeates all components and functions within the colleges.
  • Foster an innovative, creative business-oriented atmosphere aimed toward excellence in programs and services.
  • Expand the International perspective of faculty and staff.
  • Provide faculty and staff exchanges to increase global orientation.
  • Encourage and support faculty and staff development opportunities.
