Passports

The ACCD encourages all traveling students and faculty to apply for a passport as soon as possible. New laws adopted in the wake of 9/11 now require travelers to have a passport to return to the United States, even from countries in the Western Hemisphere that previously did not require passports.

At this time, the new laws go into effect on January 23, 2007 for air travelers and January 1, 2008 for travelers coming by land or sea. Since the law is subject to change or revision, see the U.S. Department of State [http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html] for the most current information.
