Administrator Named to Communities in Schools Executive

L Leonard, director of College Partnerships for St.
Philip’s College, was recently elected to the
executive committee of Communities in Schools-San
Antonio. Leonard will serve a one-year term (2005-2006)
as vice chairman, a prelude to the full chairmanship,
which he will assume for the 2006-2007 term next summer.
Leonard, a retired U.S. Air Force officer, has more
than 24 years experience in student services. Over
the past 21 years, he has served in numerous administrative
leadership roles at St. Philip’s College and
has served on the board of directors of Communities
in Schools since 2003. In his role as vice chairman
of the executive committee, Leonard will help direct
the Communities in Schools mission, which is to connect
schools with community resources in order to help
young people successfully learn, stay in school, and
prepare for life.
