to Celebrate International Education Week

Antonio College will celebrate International Education
Week, Monday, Nov. 14 - Friday, Nov. 18, with roundtable
discussions on U.S. Foreign Policy and Cultural Stereotypes,
an International Film Festival, and an International
Student Expo. All events are free and open to the
public. For more information, contact Dr. Jon Lee,
Associate Professor of History, at 733-2565, or Suzanna
Borawski, Coordinator of International Student Services,
at 785-6057.

All events, unless otherwise noted, will be held in
the Loftin Student Center, Fiesta Room.

Monday, Nov. 14:
12 - 1 p.m.
"International Perceptions of U.S. Foreign
Policy," roundtable moderated by Political
Science Professor Dr. Phil Rogers, with international
students discussing how U.S. foreign policy is perceived,
analyzed, and interpreted in their homelands.
- Tuesday,
Nov. 15:
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
International Film Festival:
9:30-11:40 a.m. - Italy: La Vita e Bella (Life is
Beautiful); 11:50 a.m.-2 p.m. - Argentina: Diarios
de Motocicleta (Motorcycle Diaries); 2:10 - 3:40
p.m. - China: Gong Fu (Kung Fu Hustle). Free popcorn
and refreshments are available.
- Wednesday,
Nov. 16:
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
International Student Expo 2005 - "Celebrate
World Diversity." Students from Africa, Asia,
the Americas and Europe will display art, food,
photos, costumes, music and dance from their countries.
SAC Dance Expression and a dance troupe from Veracruz,
Mexico, will perform. The International Students
Association will be selling sausage tacos, sodas
and buñuelos outside the Loftin Student Center
to raise money for field trips for the ISA Club.

Nov. 17:
10:50 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.
"Cultural Stereotypes," roundtable moderated
by Political Science Professor Christy Woodward
Kaupert. International students will discuss their
stereotypes of America and Americans before they
came to San Antonio College and how others in their
homeland stereotype Americans. The audience is invited
to discuss their stereotyping of foreign students
and foreign residents.
- Friday,
Nov. 18
1:30 - 3 p.m.
Pot Luck luncheon with International students. Bring
a dish and enjoy a lively conversation with international
students. Moody Learning Center, Room 177.
