Jorge Posadas has been selected as the new Director of Student Life at San Antonio College. Posada previously served at St. Edward's University in Austin as Executive Director of the ENLACE program, a community partnership to increase the number of Hispanic high school and college graduates.

Dr. Joy Gates Black, Dean of Student Affairs, said, "Jorge's experience working with programs serving students in community colleges and in both public and private four-year institutions will be a tremendous asset to the Office of Student Life. We are happy to have him here."

Previously, Posada served as Coordinator of the National Hispanic Bilingual Engineering Program at San Antonio College, Project Management Specialist for the San Antonio Education Partnership, and Admissions Counselor/Advisor for Our Lady of the Lake University. He has also served as a consultant for Austin Community College Center for Civic Engagement as well as for other institutions.

He earned his B.A. and M.A. from Our Lady of the Lake University, the first participant of the San Antonio Education Partnership to earn either degree. In 2003-2004, he was recognized by Commissioner Brown and Commissioner Paredes of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for successful models to increase the college going rate in the state.

For more information, contact Mr. Posadas at 733-2680 or Dr. Black at 785-6202.
