NVC Holds Student Composer Contest 2006

Eligibility
Any current or potential student interested in attending the Alamo Community College District who is 17 years of age or older.

Awards
Each contest winner will receive a $200 scholarship from the Alamo Community College District. This is eligible at any of the ACCD colleges.

Categories
Two scholarship winners will be selected, one for best electronic music score and one for best standard notation/printed music score. Four additional winners will be selected from each category to have their work performed at the Northwest Vista College Fall Music Festival November 1-2.

Guidelines
Electronic music scores should be at least 3:00 in length and submitted on a CD as a .wav file. CDs should be labeled with your name, address, e-mail and composition title.   

Printed scores can be presented in any instrumental combination, provided the entrant supplies the musicians required to perform the piece. NVC faculty can provide the following instruments: clarinet and/or saxophone, piano and guitar. Entrants must provide a printed score with the title and composer's name.

Submissions
Entrants should submit printed scores and/or CDs with the competition application by October 1st, 2006. Entries should be mailed to the following address:
