WHAT:
The ACCD’s Student Leadership Institute’s
Distinguished Speaker series,
which is free and open to the public.
WHO:
Leo Gomez, Vice President/External Affairs and Corporate
Development
for the San Antonio Spurs
WHEN:
Tuesday, November 14, 10-11 a.m. Gomez will speak
and then, after a 30-minute discussion, he will address
questions from the SLI students about his experiences
as a busiiness and community leader
WHERE:
McAllister Auditorium, San Antonio College, 1300 San
Pedro
WHY:
Gomez will speak on “Setting the Target; Hitting
the Bullseye: How to Get Where You Want.” He
will also address his own struggles with leadership
experience and how the choices he makes affect the
San Antonio community. Gomez joined the Spurs in May
1996, leaving the organization to serve for a year
and a half as general manager at Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
before returning to the Spurs in 2005. Before joining
the Spurs, he served as president of the San Antonio
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as the vice president
for governmental affairs at the Greater San Antonio
Chamber of Commerce.
