You’ve
never seen Romeo & Juliet quite like this! Set
in the countryside of northern Brazil in 2010, against
a violent backdrop of a world fueled by harsh poverty,
the teen-aged “star-crossed” lovers try
to build a life together only to become victims of
their parents obsessive hate.
Featuring
the Brazilian martial art form, Capoeira, the play
explores what happens to the children when the adults
lose perspective on the important things in life.
The Watson
Fine Arts Center Theatre has been converted to a smaller,
more intimate, black-box configuration for this production.
Seating is limited. Reservations are strongly suggested,
and can be made by calling: 531-3323.
