Partners with San Antonio Rampage

On
Monday, November 13, T-Bone of the San Antonio Rampage
visited Northwest Vista College President Jackie Claunch.
The mascot's visit was part of a new partnership between
the college and the AHL hockey team. The goal of the
partnership is to provide additional outreach and family-oriented
activities for the NVC community, and to help promote
and build a fan base for the local hockey team.
"San Antonio
is not a hockey town," explains Director of Information
and Communications Technology Pat Fontenot, who spearheaded
the partnership between the college and the Rampage.
"If we can spark some interest in the sport of hockey,
the San Antonio Rampage franchise will be more likely
to remain in San Antonio."
During
the week of November 27-28, NVC's chapter of Phi Theta
Kappa will sponsor a fundraiser to sell Rampage tickets.
The Ice Girls from the San Antonio Rampage will also
be on the Northwest Vista College campus to help with
the fundraiser.
"NVC Night
With the Rampage," the first discounted games featuring
the Rampage vs. Omaha, will be held on Thursday, November
30 and Friday, December 1 at the AT&T Center at
7:00 p.m.
