to Hold Groundbreaking for New Construction

WHAT:
* San Antonio College officials will hold a Groundbreaking
Ceremony to launch the construction of a new Nursing-Allied
Health Building, Academic Complex, and Parking Garage.
A reception will follow the ceremony.

These capital improvement projects are the result
of the passage of the $450 million Alamo Community
College District bond package in November 2005. San
Antonio College received $79 million for its construction
projects, which also includes enhanced infrastructure
and renovation of some existing buildings.

* Thursday, December 14, 10 a.m.

San Antonio College, 1300 San Pedro Ave.

A tent for the event will be located near the corner
of W. Park and Lewis Streets.
* Directions: From San Pedro Ave., turn east on W.
Park St. Participants and media will be directed to
reserved parking in Lot #28, at the corner of W. Park
St. and Lewis St.

BACKGROUND:
* Since passage of the bond, San Antonio College has
worked with college user groups, architects, contractors,
and others to plan the details of the construction,
including the locations of the buildings.
* The anticipated timeline for construction is January
2008 for completion of the Parking Garage, and summer
2008 for the Nursing-Allied Health Building and Academic
Complex.
