(210) 348-2011 Northwest Vista College Hosts Second Annual Vista Da$h for Dollar$
Area Runners and Walkers Use Fitness To Help Local College Students
San Antonio, TX (February 18, 2008) — Northwest Vista College will host the Second Annual Vista Da$h For Dollar$ 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, February 23, 2008.
Area walkers and runners are invited to put their feet forward and register for this invigorating active lifestyle event.
Last year, 125 people stepped up and registered for Vista Da$h For Dollar$. Event organizer and Assistant Coordinator of Student Leadership Activities, Daniel Johnson, says this year’s goal aims to double that amount. “I love to see people in motion,” says Daniel. “The plan is to keep the race growing, and to provide students and community members with a top-notch fitness and recreational activity.”
The Second Annual Vista Da$h for Dollar$ course will loop the award-winning scenic campus of Northwest Vista College. Participants can enjoy the sights and sounds of native trees and wildlife, while experiencing the joy of exercise.
The 5K walk/run begins at 9 A.M. on the patio of Huisache Hall. Registration is $10 for students, $15 for non-students, and $20 on the race day. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. All participants will receive a Vista Da$h for Dollar$ t-shirt, and first place prizes will be awarded in both male and female categories. Proceeds will benefit local kinesiology students through educational scholarship funds. Registration is available online at www.accd.edu/nvc/students/activities/race.
