Alamo Community Colleges' Board of Trustees Names Winney Associate Vice Chancellor for Employee Services
David L. Winney began his duties this week as the new Associate Vice Chancellor for Employee Services at the Alamo Community Colleges. Winney, a veteran of more than 20 years in in the human resources field, most recently served as Human Resources Director and Civil Service Director for the city of Wichita Fall, Texas.
His previous experience also includes serving as: the Human Resources Director for the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; as the Director of Human Resources, Total Quality Management Advisor, Inspector and Auditor for the Federal Government, Air Education and Training Command Inspector General Team and USAF Recruiting Service Personnel Division in San Antonio; and as Personal Director, USAF, Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock, Texas.
“David Winney's extensive and proven executive leadership and management experience and his excellent track record make him a valuable asset to the Alamo Community Colleges as we strive to develop our “human capital” in improving the quality of our institution,” said ACC Chancellor Dr. Bruce H. Leslie.
Winney holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia, and a master’s degree in business administration/human resources management concentration, from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management, and as a Certified Quality Manager and Certified Quality Auditor by the American Society for Quality.
Winney is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the National Public Employers Labor Relations Association, the Texas Municipal Human Resources Association and the Texas Public Employers Labor Relations Association.
