Northwest Vista College students got a chance to go “Behind the Scenes of Great Day SA” to shoot a production of what it takes to put the early-morning television show together. The six-minute segment was aired on KENS 5-TV in late April and in May.

Most of the students are from the NVC Multimedia Program's Advanced Digital Video or the Digital Video classes.

Ron Wojnar, Assistant Professor and Co-Coordinator of the College’s Multimedia Technology section, said in the last four years KENS has partnered with local colleges to produce the piece. Northwest Vista College has produced the behind-the-scenes segment three times.

“We try to stress real-world experiences in our classes, and here they get to do a project that’s being aired and meet a real due date for a real client,” said Wojnar. “The students have to step it up because it’s a piece that’s going to be seen by tens of thousands of people.”

The following students worked on the project: Julio Barrientos, Alisa Gilson, Mike Mascorro and Matt Ryan. The students did camera work and Ryan edited the piece and created the music along with Andrew Rosas.
