ACC and Texas A&M University Announce TEAMSA

Texas A&M University Chancellor Dr. Michael D. McKinney, M.D., and Alamo Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Bruce H. Leslie sign the agreement formalizing the program

An enthusiastic crowd of Alamo Community College and Texas A&M representatives gathered today for a press conference announcing TEAMSA, an innovative transfer and co-enrollment program which will benefit students from both institutions. The TEAMSA program will provide students who want to attend both institutions with the option of guaranteed admission to The Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center San Antonio (TAMUK-SCSA) once they fulfill the program requirements, or the unique option of enrolling simultaneously at both an Alamo Community College and TAMUK-SCSA.

On hand to sign the agreement formalizing the program were Texas A&M University Chancellor Dr. Michael D. McKinney, M.D., and Alamo Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Bruce H. Leslie. Both noted in their remarks that the agreement grew out of a shared sense that, rather than thinking of students as “ours” or “theirs,” both leaders view the students of their respective institutions as “our” students and conceived the TEAMSA program as a way to make this vision a reality.
