SAN ANTONIO (Jan 8, 2009) --- The Bexar Library Association’s membership has selected a new St. Philip’s College Librarian to serve as its Secretary for the 2009-2010 season.

St. Philip’s College Reference/Instruction Librarian Reuben Kaller has been named Secretary of the Association.

“In addition to welcoming him, we applaud Reuben’s initiative and engagement in the local professional library community,” Association member and St. Philip’s College Interim Learning Resource Center Director Rita Castro said.

The Bexar Library Association is the local professional organization for academic, school, and public librarians in Bexar County. Its members network to enhance the quality of life with better library services for San Antonians. In his new capacity, Kaller will keep all of the organization’s members connected to important information from current Association President Arthalene Gordey, particularly the minutes from the Association’s quarterly meetings.

“The Association is great,” said Kaller, who has been employed with the St. Philip’s College since September. “Our members network to make our libraries more relevant to all people,” Kaller said. “We promote information literacy,” said Kaller.
